WERCHEK DEVELOPMENT, LLC
Werchek Development began business in 1979 as a custom home builder. Our business began in a Northern suburb of Chicago called Libertyville. The town was growing fast and we rarely left town for the next 30 years. Mike Werchek grew up in Libertyville and moved his family back to Libertyville in 1980. The demand for our product was so high that we turned down homes in most years. Werchek Development built over 350 custom homes, all except 9 were custom built for customers. We never had to bid against other builders. When customers came to us, we already had the job because of our reputation. Most of the homes were referrals from past customers. Werchek Development had many 2 and 3 time buyers and one client had us build 4 homes for him and his family. At one time we employed 60 employees, doing 50% of the construction, with in house labor. We shut our Illinois operation down in 2007. We have been building in Florida since 2004 and moved here permanently in 2007.
Werchek Development also developed 18 subdivisions in Libertyville, consisting of over 750 lots. We would take these projects from farmland to completion of all roads and utilities.
Werchek Development built 4 office complexes consisting of 440,000 sq. ft. We also contracted the build outs for tenants. These consisted of dental, medical, general office, MRI and surgical suites. Our commercial experience also includes the building of two restaurants and the build out and remodel of a 98,000 sq. ft. building from a factory to a premier furniture store.
